He has a particular clinical interest in stroke in the young, intracranial atherosclerosis, optimizing secondary stroke risk factor reduction, vascular malformations such as aneurysms, and evaluating patients for interventional procedures such as carotid endarterectomy or stenting. His clinical practice includes evaluating and treating acute strokes in the hospital and emergency department and providing outpatient consultation in the stroke clinic, including urgent referrals. de Havenon returned to Salt Lake City to establish his vascular neurology practice within the Stroke Center at the University of Utah. He finished a vascular neurology fellowship at University of Washington (Seattle, WA) in 2014, under the mentorship of Dr.
from Yale University (New Haven, CT) in 2001, he received his medical degree from Brown University School of Medicine in 2009 (Providence, RI) and completed internship and neurology residency at the University of Utah in 2013. de Havenon is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Utah, School of Medicine.
